LATEST RECIPE @ Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur

The bustling metropolitan city of Kuala Lumpur witnessed the debut opening of the Latest Recipe on 29th November 2007. Just barely less than 24 hours, the former One On One restaurant was turned into a shimmering bright and colourful atmosphere that draws many people to walk into the restaurant. Lively live-cooking with unusual gastronomic delights and interactive chefs are just some of the daily activities at Latest Recipe. Experience this food adventure on level 5 of Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur.

The latest addition of this restaurant is certainly going to draw many food-hunters who are craving for a wide-spread of buffets to throng into the restaurant for a scruptious meal. But considering the fact that the hotel’s chefs have been winning awards since its opening and most recently conferred ‘The Most Outstanding Hotel Team & Overall Champion’ by Culinaire Malaysia 2007, one can hardly blame them for showcasing their culinary talents.

The restaurant is concentric in design with a high roomy ceiling and its centerpiece is a dramatic eight-metre long, multi-coloured glass mosaics, cast in Kobe, Japan, which flows into the lobby. The juxtaposition of simplistic and contemporary decor exudes an aura of tranquility throughout the restaurant. Akin to a Zen ambience, the serene and soothing feeling is further accentuated with new age Asian music flowing in the background. Friendly staff clad in a bright orange ensemble that is both chic and practical, greets diners and lead them to their seats. Floor to ceiling glass windows allow guests to enjoy a picturesque view of the Lake Gardens and The National Museum. Natural sunlight sweeps across the restaurant providing warm, natural lighting by day while nightfall opens up a magical evening landscape to impress all.

The pilot breakfast which was developed by our consultant chef of the Le Meridien Hotels, Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, a renowned 3-Michelin star Chef which introduces the Signature dishes to array the varieties on the buffet spread. Our Bonjour waitress will be serving you at least 2-shots of different "Eye Opener" everyday which is meant to wake you up from a memorable breakfast with us.

For breakfast, patrons of Latest Recipe will revel in the wholesome buffet spread for a healthy start in the morning. Imagine freshly squeezed tropical fruit juices mixed with spices served in shooters to perk up your mornings.

Buffet lunch is served daily as tables are filled to the brim with International delights ranging from roast lamb, grilled salmon as well as local favourites including nasi dagang, curry sotong, crispy sweet & sour prawns and much more. Dinner is yet another exciting affair at the restaurant. Serving an even more extravagant buffet, the atmosphere of the restaurant evolves to reflect a totally out-of-this-world dining concept. The buffets are priced at RM 68++ and RM 78++ per person for lunch and dinner, respectively.

Alternatively, the restaurant’s a la carte menu presents a wide selection of starters, noodles, vegetarian, meat and low-calorie meals, which meant all appetites are catered for. Chef’s recommendations include Kuih Pie Tee, Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Lamb Osso Bucco, Salmon Wali-Mahi and Grilled Lobster Thermidor, to name a few.

Latest Recipe, located at level 5 of Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, has been designed to offer a new degree of style and class in an unobtrusive ambiance. The restaurant is open daily from 6.30 am to 12.00 am and seats 160 persons including a private dining room for 10 persons. DOCTORS PAY !!! (UPDATED DAILY)

Two different situations:
1) Currently, I am living with my family.
2) My brother is living in his university campus.
There is NO way we are passing our illnesses to each other & coincidentally, we are on the same boat.

I have always wondered if doctors who sits in the clinic earns better than those in the hospital. You can say that they do and they don't depending on the areas they cover or the number of competitors around the area (Yes! Doctors too need to fight for their constituency).

Since my childhood days (or since I shifted to PJ at the age of 8), I have been constantly going to this clinic located in Damansara Uptown. It's called Klinik Ng but the husband & wife operating this clinic are not Chinese if you do visit them. Anyhow, they are Indians. Nice couple & both of them are doctors themselves.

On Wednesday morning (14th November 2007), I've discovered that I am not feeling well but I still went to work. I couldn't enjoy much during my last day of the orientation programme to welcome new associates. I went to my usual family doctor the next day. My gosh...everything seems fine but when it comes to pay the bill, my mum has to forked out RM 160.00 from her pocket for a mere 20 minutes of checkup. I had a very high fever 101ºF, flaming red sorethroat & bodyaches. Summoned: 2 days of MC.

My brother who was already sick came back from his university campus that afternoon and went to the doctor as well. That cost my mum another RM 205.00. My brother has some extra medicine I guess. No MC for him because he has no lectures throughout that week already.

This morning, both my brother & I went to the doctor again but at a different timing. I was there for like 10 minutes or so and took some tablets. That cost my mum another RM 65.00. Summoned: 1 day of MC + 1 day of my rest day from work (Sunday). My brother on the other hand pays another RM 113.00 for his consultation & medication.

Well, the doctor summoned me back on Sunday, 18th November 2007 for another checkup. Anyhow, he has earned RM 543.00 from my parents' pocket. What an easy money but I must said that his medicine are expensive. I asked my uncle for confirmation. I must say that this clinic prescribed good medicines & if you (touchwood) are sick, do try it out. Trust me !!!

18th NOVEMBER 2007 (Sunday)
I went to the doctor again just now as been asked by him yesterday. It was about 7 minutes check-up. Thank GOD the fever is gone, he said. My throat is still bad, he said. Threw in stronger medication for my throat. That cost my mum another RM 89.00. That brings the total to RM 632.00. THAT'S A LOT WEI !!! Next checkup (Not enough from us?): Wednesday/Thursday

A Birthday Gift for FlyFm – HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY FlyFm

“It’s All About The Music”, the famous tagline of FlyFm radio station in Malaysia. You’ll not miss it wherever you go.

I could vaguely remember how long have I patronized FlyFm but I certainly remembered that my first upclose with the FlyFm is during their 1st Anniversary celebration on 18th November 2006. Sharing the joy together with 3 of my other friends, we certainly enjoyed the celebration.

Over the past one year or so, many activities were lined up by FlyFm such as FlyFm’s Campur Chart Goes Live in Laundry Bar, The Curve, FlyFm Invades McDonalds, enjoy Free Starbucks Coffee’s Caramel Machiato and winning cold hard cashs when FlyFm goes Live in selected Starbucks Coffee outlets and many more.

How time really flies and this year, FlyFm is turning two and so many that they have done, I’ve lost count. People always changed and so does the people in FlyFm – less a few people but gaining back the population.

Getting upclose with the happening Deejays ain’t that hard though but I really enjoy their accompaniment with the publics. From my personal point of view, FlyFm has provided a lot of opportunities for us the public to get a personal upclose with them in public events like I have mentioned a few above.

Not forget to mention about FlyFm is that I simply love the almost no advertisements in its content. Not only they have played our favourites but they also allow us to “Demand” our own songs through their Night Flight “Attendant” and during the day with the Big Bang Breakfast Show (BBBS) guys on their “Alarm Call” and “Show Stopper”.

Dear FlyFm Deejays, Producer, Engineers behind the Scene and all who make FlyFm successful, I would like to take this opportunity to wish FlyFm a very Happy and Blessed 2nd Birthday. Remember to keep me in your invitation list to your 2nd Birthday Party Bash !!!!!

It is a fun and exiting moment spending my time hanging out with you guys. Happy 2nd Birthday FlyFm.
