PRICE WAR !!!

While many people throughout the whole world awaits for the last book of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows since the 6th book which has been released about 2 years ago, major bookstores in Malaysia faces price war. The 4 major bookstores namely MPH Bookstores, Popular, Times and Harris had decided to pull the books off their shelves on 21st July 2007 as a boycott to the 2 gigantic hypermarkets who are selling the book for only RM 69.90 (normal price: RM 109.90).

It is very ridiculous for Tesco and Carrefour to gain self-promotion from the media. Many Harry Potter fans that I have personally met had mix feelings as some were totally against it while to many, they could save RM 40.00 by purchasing it from these hypermarkets. Angry fans regard them as "dirty tactics". Why would these hypermarkets want to destroy the mood of many fans of Harry Potter?

I personally believed that they want to gain media coverage not within Malaysia but to be famous throughout the whole world. I would simply agree with many who said that "dirty tactics" is a foul play in this situation. However, it depends on what each individuals felt about their decisions.

An Unnoticeable Experience

It was about 1 month ago,
I turned 21,
No one notice,
Life goes on.

When I was born into this beautiful world of Malaysia, everyone around me cried for joy. I was the limelight and the center of the family - Congratulatory messages kept pouring in, grandmother gave thanks to God, relatives and friends came with presents.

As year passes by, it was very significant to see the infant growing up as a child, with birthday cakes and presents pouring in every year. As I grew older, I wasn't as lucky as most of my peers, birthday parties, surprises and presents still kept pouring in. I could clearly remember that I only had 3 presents for my 21st birthday.

Promises are just easy to say but to do it, it's the opposite. Life is so short, so to say that am I going to have nothing as at all as I celebrate my Golden Jubilee of my birth?

There is no reason why I should even celebrate my Centenary birthday or perhaps being remembered after my death. Everyone seems to have miscalculated after that. It happens in today's world. The world is rushing till they do not have time for themselves and even the people around them.

As what the famous slogan - Gold, Glory and Gospel lives on in this evolving world. No one actually cares how old are you or who you are. Such a selfish pathetic world. With science and technology increasing widely in our lives, many things have since changed to what we call Information Techonology (or it's abbreviation, IT). We are all "machinized" in whatever way we are living. Even telephone calls became voice messages, parking attendant becoming autopay machine and many more.

Are we allowing all this to happen in our lives? Certainly I wouldn't agree that I would vote off the machineries from our midst but humans are becoming unaware of its surroundings. It is as though I wake up, go to college, had my meals, coming back home and sleep. The routine repeats by itself day-after-day without you realizing that you are a year older.

Competition is the essential thing in their mind to be able to survive on this planet called Earth.

Do you realize of the changes around you?

Have you not care of the people around you?

Perhaps you do?

Maybe not...
