PRICE WAR !!!

While many people throughout the whole world awaits for the last book of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows since the 6th book which has been released about 2 years ago, major bookstores in Malaysia faces price war. The 4 major bookstores namely MPH Bookstores, Popular, Times and Harris had decided to pull the books off their shelves on 21st July 2007 as a boycott to the 2 gigantic hypermarkets who are selling the book for only RM 69.90 (normal price: RM 109.90).

It is very ridiculous for Tesco and Carrefour to gain self-promotion from the media. Many Harry Potter fans that I have personally met had mix feelings as some were totally against it while to many, they could save RM 40.00 by purchasing it from these hypermarkets. Angry fans regard them as "dirty tactics". Why would these hypermarkets want to destroy the mood of many fans of Harry Potter?

I personally believed that they want to gain media coverage not within Malaysia but to be famous throughout the whole world. I would simply agree with many who said that "dirty tactics" is a foul play in this situation. However, it depends on what each individuals felt about their decisions.

just for ur info, Harris is under Popular... Popular is the mother/father company of it...
Tesco & Carrefour can sell the books, as the law didn't say they can't... but i think they should just respect the other "main line" book sellers...those that their core business is BOOKs... why must they do this to them... isn't this BIG bully Small....
